Fontilles is the leading non-profit organization in Spain in the fight against leprosy and other neglected diseases. More than five hundred thousand people benefit during 2019 from the 25 cooperation projects that the foundation develops in 7 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In Spain, the Foundation operates in The Fontilles Social-Health Complex, located in the municipality of La Vall de Laguar (Alicante), which includes Ferrís Hospital, Borja Geriatric Centre and the National Leprosy Reference Centre.
Fontilles develops international cooperation projects to bring health to people affected by neglected diseases, such as leprosy, malaria, Buruli ulcer, Chagas disease... These diseases are, at the same time, cause and consequence of poverty. Therefore, in addition to health care, our goal is to promote the sustainable development of affected communities.
